Kicker is a declarative notification mechanism for monitoring of database changes. Kickers are modeled in YANG and Kicker instances are stored as configuration data in CDB.

When a change is detected on any of the monitored nodes, the notification is performed by action invocation.

The amount of programming is a matter of implementing the actions to be invoked, very much simpler compared to the CDB subscriber model.

Kicker works for all data providers.

At this moment, Kicker is only available through ConfD Premium. The best way to learn more about it is to work through the kicker example in the ConfD distribution. For further help, please contact Tail-f’s support team.
